If the backlight on a laptop is not working, is it easier to just replace the whole screen?
My laptop fell out of my computer bag. I emailed a computer repair service person and explained the symptoms. He says it sounds like the backlight is broken. He says it would be easier to replace the whole screen instead of just the backlight.
Is he being honest? If the backlight is indeed broken, is it truly easier to just replace the whole screen? That’s a really a big price difference and I don’t want to be ripped off.
Being honest? NO, and actually I suggest YOU replace the backlight.
Know what it is?
A small fluorescent bulb!
Really, it isn’t tough at all. Keep your money in your pocket, and just buy the backlight.
